A. Nalewaik CCE MRICS
AACE International Activities: Alexia Nalewaik is currently finishing her term as AACEI Director – Region 6, and was awarded “Regional Director of the Year” at the AACEI conference in Toronto. She is Administrative Chair for ICEC, is active with the Technical Committee as a reviewer for Recommended Practices & Standards and Cost Engineering journal, and is also active with the development of a new Certification in Risk. Alexia has presented and published technical papers at the Annual Meeting and other conferences. She is a two-term past-president of the Southern California Section, and past Chair of the Women in Project Controls Task Force.
A senior manager with Moss Adams LLP, Alexia leads the firm’s Construction Audit and Advisory practice. With over 17 years of public and private sector industry experience, she has major strengths in cost and risk management, owner’s representative services, audit, and contract compliance. Alexia is a Certified Cost Engineer and Chartered Surveyor. She holds a BA in physics from the University of Dallas, and an M.S. in structural engineering from the University of Southern California.
Goals and Objectives: I believe that our members are our Association’s most valuable assets, through whom we provide the cost engineering community and employers with unparalleled technical expertise, resources, networking opportunities, and continuing education. The most important responsibilities of the Vice President - Administration are thus: to enable the ongoing improvement and performance of the Association, its service to the profession, and its responsiveness to members. As VP Admin, I would facilitate the growth of AACE International through these actions:
- Work closely with staff, the Board and Executive Director to improve Headquarters and Association efficiency
- Hold AACE International accountable for its value to members and achievements against the strategic plan and specific metrics, while providing assistance in achieving performance goals
- Coordinate with Marketing and Public Relations to grow the Association through the identification of new corporate sponsors, regional areas and industries
- Oversee the administrative functions of AACEI Headquarters operations
- Serve as corporate secretary and legal officer of the Association, conducting all official correspondence and maintaining all charters, constitutions, and bylaws
- Direct the granting of Fellow awards and Emeritus Membership as rewards for service to the Association
- Work with the Board of Directors to ensure we are serving our membership to the fullest
- Continue to be personally accessible and responsive to Association members, as exhibited during my terms as Regional Director and Section President

 Valerie
Venters
AACE International Activities: Valerie Venters has been a member of AACE since 1997. She is active in the Houston Gulf Coast Section (HGCS) and has served on the HGCS Board of Directors since 1998. Ms. Venters was HGCS Vice President 2000-2001, HGCS President 2001-2002, and has been HGCS Treasurer since 2003. Valerie also served on the AACE International Certification Board from 2001 through 2005; was Region 5 Director from 2005 through 2007; and became the Chairperson of the Women in Project Controls Task Force in 2007 where she will serve through 2009. Valerie was a contributing author to the revision of the Certification Study Guide, Third Edition.
Ms. Venters has over 20 years experience in Project Controls and Project Management. In 2005, Ms. Venters founded Venters Consulting LLC – a company specializing in Project Management, Cost Control, Planning and Schedule Management.
Goals and Objectives: As Vice President of Administration, I will:
- Promote AACE membership and its recognition as the professional organization of choice by seeking out new companies for the Corporate Sponsorship Program.
- Promote Corporate Sponsorship Program benefits to companies as an avenue for training, certification, and career development.
- Improve the services and benefits of AACE membership resulting in the retention and growth in the membership. Identify what works best for the membership, evaluate the lessons learned and implement improvements.
- Visit the local sections to increase awareness of AACE among project professionals; emphasizing AACE as an organization for all project professionals who endeavor to complete successful projects.
- Open better communication avenues between the membership and the AACE Board of Directors.
- Promote the opportunities available through AACE for continuing education, project controls training, and certification.
