Martin Darley FRICS CCC

AACE International Activities: Past-President Houston Gulf Coast Section. Fellow of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). Chartered Quantity Surveying, and Chartered Project Manager. Active participant in RICS Americas Board activities. RICS licensed APC assessor trainer for USA. Participated in the MOU with RICS. Presented at AACEI meetings. Contributor to JIP’s, and Co-author of European Construction Industry publication. Director of Turner & Townsend Energy, one of the leading providers of global consultancy support for the energy industry, and has over 35 years experience as project and cost management advisor to major oil companies in the Upstream, and Refining and Manufacturing.


Goals and Objectives:

  • Represent Region 5 at the Annual meeting
  • Encourage individual and corporate membership
  • Support members seeking certification
  • Empower section boards and share best practice
  • Continue to promote reciprocity between RICS and AACEI
  • Represent region at AACEI Board
  • Promote Women in Project Controls
  • Visit on sections wherever practicable
  • Have fun


Dr.Anamaria Popescu PE PMP

AACE International Activities: Dr.Anamaria Popescu has been a member of AACE since 1995. She has published and presented 8 papers to the annual conference in both the project controls and forensic scheduling arenas. She also spoke at the Rocky Mountain AACE chapter in which she is a member of. She is on the committee for Forensic Schedule Analysis and was a major contributor to the development of the Recommend Practice dealing with Schedule Analysis. She is also part of the Women in Project Controls committee and presented a paper for them at the last conference. She also had her biography published in the February issue of Cost Engineering. She obtained her BS in Civil Engineering and her Master and Doctorate in the Construction Engineering and Project Management department regarding schedule analysis at the University of Texas at Austin. She also obtained her PE from Texas and runs her own consulting firm. She has over 13 years of experience in the project management, project controls, and claims arenas.

Goals and Objectives: As Region 5 Director, my goals include:

  1. To increase the local and regional AACE membership.
  2. Travel to the various chapters in my region in order to understand better the issues they are facing.
  3. Encourage and increase attendance to the Annual Conference as well as presenting papers there.
  4. Communicate with the other Regional Directors to swap lessons learned and best practices between the regions and the local chapters.
  5. Facilitate providing courses for both professional development and the AACE certifications.
