Technical Committees and SIGs provide a venue for those interested in a particular
technical function or industry to share experiences, leverage each others skills and
knowledge, and produce technical products. Committees and SIGs report to AACE's Technical
Board and, among other things, are responsible for encouraging publication of technical
papers and articles, compiling Professional Practice Guides, and supporting development of
Recommended Practices and Standards.
In order to promote timely transfer of technical information the Technical Board has
instigated e-mail discussion lists for each of the topic areas represented by our
Technical Committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). We hope you'll participate in
these discussions which should provide additional value to you and other members.
Becoming active in a committee or SIG is a great way to develop your leadership, writing,
communication, and technical skills, while assisting the association in producing
technical products of enduring value to the industry and employers. Outside of your local
AACE section, there is no better way to get to know and work with your professional peers
in your field and industry.
Most committees and SIGs meet every year at the Annual Meeting. However, members can
communicate regularly through these convenient e-mail lists. Through the lists, help,
support, and cooperation is always just an e-mail away. By sending a note or inquiry to
one e-mail address you will automatically reach every member of the committee or SIG list.
