Bach Withdraws as Director-Region 3 Candidate

December 10, 2012

Andrea Bach was originally posted and published as a 2013 candidate for the 2013-2014 Director-Region 3 post.  She has since accepted a job in Arizona and will be moving from Region 3. So, she has withdrawn as a candidate for Director-Region 3.

Also on the AACE Nominating Committee’s original slate of candidates was and is Mark Cundiff, PSP. As of this writing, he is now running unopposed as a candidate for Director-Region 3, unless a candidate or candidates is added by petition.

The AACE Bylaws provide in Article II, Nomination and Election of Officers and Directors, Section 4: “Other nominations for the office of Director or the office of an Officer of the Association may be made by petition signed by at least twenty (20) Members in good standing. The petitioners shall be responsible for (a) obtaining in writing the agreement of the nominee to serve if elected, (b) securing the biographical data of the nominee, (c) submitting the petitions, the agreement, and the biographical data to be received by the Vice President-Administration no later than December 15th of each year. Each candidate’s name and biographical data shall be made available to the membership no later than December 31st of each year."

If members are interested in adding a Director-Region 3 candidate or candidates by petition, the petition needs to read: “We the undersigned AACE members in good standing nominate by petition (insert name) to be added as a candidate for the 2013-2014 election for the office of Director-Region 3 as outline in the AACE Bylaws, Article II--Nomination and Election of Officers and Directors, Section 4.

Any petition or petitions must be submitted along with a candidate's signed statement agreeing to serve if elected, biographical data, goals for office and a photo. The petition, signed agreement, bio/goals and photo must all arrive at AACE Headquarters on or before midnight on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Compliance with the bylaws provisions will then be checked and certified and any new candidate or candidates announced to the AACE membership no later than Dec. 31.

Readers who previously viewed the AACE website, or read the online December Source magazine, or who go back and view the December Source will still see Bach listed as a candidate. However, her name will not appear on the 2013 ballot.
