“Ask the Candidate” Questions Released; Candidate Responses to Be Posted on February 1
January 5, 2012
As previously announced, the Nominating Committee has introduced a new concept, “Ask the Candidates,” as part of the 2012 election process. According to Chair Steve Revay, the Nominating Committee selected 10 questions from among those submitted by the membership to pose to the 2012 candidates. There will be one set of questions for President-Elect candidates and a slightly different set for all other candidates. Answers to the questions will be posted on the website for voters on Feb. 1, 2012, the first day that online balloting will be open. The election voting closes at 4 p m Eastern Time on March 15, 2012.
Only individuals who were paid AACE members as of Dec. 31, 2011, will be eligible to vote in the 2012 elections. Individuals joining for the first time after Jan. 1, 2012, will not be able to vote in the current election. All 2011 paid members are eligible to vote. Those individuals joining for 2012, who paid prior to January 1, 2012, may vote.
Individual members may vote for any of the officer candidates, but only for the region director in their own region. Only Regions 1,2,4,7 and 9 are electing directors this year. Your region is defined by what you selected as your primary section affiliation as of Dec. 31, 2011. As members log on, they will automatically receive the ballot generated for their specific region. You will need your member ID and password to log on
and access the ballot on our website.
If you encounter any problems either accessing the online ballot or some other voting problem, e-mail editor@aacei.org and seek assistance. Election assistance will only be available during regular AACE headquarters office hours. Stop and do not complete the voting process if you believe you have the wrong ballot. The computerized system will only let you complete voting once.
