AACE International Approves “Ask Your Candidates”
Process for 2012

December 2, 2011
The AACE International Board of Directors approved a recommendation from the Nominating Committee to create a new program designed to provide more meaningful information regarding the positions of candidates for AACE International board of director positions. Entitled “Ask Your Candidates”, the program will allow individual members to post a question online to candidates running for board of director’s position until December 31, 2011. After that deadline, the Nominating Committee will review the submitted questions and then post in a Discussion Forum on the AACE International website, set up for this particular purpose, a maximum of ten questions for each candidate by January 11, 2012.

Candidates will then have until January 30, 2012 to develop their responses to each question. All candidate responses will be posted in the Discussion Forum on January 31, 2012 on the AACE International website. Balloting for the elections opens on February 1, 2012 and closes at 4:00 pm Eastern USA on March 15. All candidates for a similar position will be asked the same questions.

According to Steve Revay, Chair of the Nominating Committee, “The committee is of the opinion that this recommendation offers a potential method of increasing membership interest in the election process while allowing members an opportunity to get a better understanding of their candidates’ views.”

To submit a question for the candidate review process, send an email with the text of the question and to which candidate position it should be addressed to. All emails should be sent no later than December 31 to: pastpres@aacei.org.
