October 11, 2011
The University of Maryland's innovative WaterShed House (shown above) has won the highly competitive U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon for 2011
from around the world who competed to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient, and attractive.
Two members of the National Capital Section of AACE International: Benson Kwong,
PE CCE of
enVErgie and Ray Hayleck of PMSI served as mentors to the engineering cost estimating team. We are very proud of their contribution both as University of Maryland alumni and as
cost engineers for their contribution to the winning entry.
