AACE International Awards more than $80,000 in Scholarships

In 2011, AACE International awarded $80,075 in scholarships, to students enrolled in university programs related to the cost and schedule management field. Two programs, a scholarship competition and a matching funds program, are open each year to students enrolled in colleges and universities in the US and Canada. Nationality is not limited to US and Canadian citizens, however.
Top awards of $8000 each were awarded to Mr. Andres Boral and Ms. Fereshteh Khoramshahi. Andres just graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He is now continuing his education and plans to obtain his MBA in 2013.

Ms. Fereshteh Khoramshahi, a graduate student at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary was the top Canadian winner for the second year in a row. She is pursuing a PhD with a Project Management Specialization and plans to complete her studies in September of 2012.
In addition, awards ranging from $6000 to $2000 were awarded to students from fourteen other institutions who were successful in the annual scholarship competition. Other awards in varying amounts were made through the matching funds program.
Matching funds awards are given to students by local AACE sections by combining their donations with funds provided for that purpose by AACE International members and sponsoring corporations.
All of the funding for these scholarship programs comes from donations from AACE members, corporate sponsors, and local sections.
