AACE was invited to be a presenter at the second Annual DOE Cost Estimating Symposium, which was held from May 25 – 26 in New Orleans, LA. President – Elect Mike Nosbisch, who is also the Board of Director’s “sponsor" of the cooperative agreement between AACE and DOE, represented the association, presenting on “The Use of Professional Credentialing in Helping to Establish a Cost Estimating Capability." Mike’s presentation was well received, and he spent several minutes at the end of the session answering questions from the attendees. One question specifically addressed the potential of AACE to consider more of a collaborative relationship between it and the other professional associations that also currently offer estimating-based certification programs (namely ASPE, SCEA, and ISPA). Mike stated
he will be committed as President to doing just that, and an initial meeting with current ISPA Chair (and AACE member) Jason Dechoretz is already being planned to occur at the Annual Meeting in Anaheim June 19-22, 2011.
