Exciting new member benefit: AACE Presents

May 3, 2011

Effective May 2011, AACE International members will benefit from an exciting new member benefit, “AACE Presents”. AACE Presents will be an online program featuring a highly regarded technical presentation from a previous Annual Meeting. The technical presentations, selected by the Technical Board, will be delivered online through this website.

The presentations will be primarily driven by enhanced PowerPoint presentations augmented by the voice of the presenter. The presentations will be deployed using Articulate, a software program that includes features that allow listeners to return to a presentation exactly where they left off and to access additional resources that supplement the presentation. AACE Presents will only be available to AACE International members. Depending upon the response to the initial presentations, AACE International may offer monthly additions to the series.

“AACE Presents is another way for AACE to multipurpose the valuable technical resources that we have developed for the total cost management community,” commented Larry Dysert, Chair of the Technical Board. “Assuming the response to the initial presentations is favorable, it would be the Technical Board’s intent to make available almost 12 hours of quality education resources available 24 hours a day, seven days per week each year. We believe that AACE Presents will be a welcomed addition to the impressive array of resources offered to our members and other stakeholders.”

To enhance the educational experience, each AACE Presents presentation will be linked to a discussion forum where members may post questions and comments regarding the presentation. The initial three presentations planned for release are:
  • May: "How to Write a Technical Paper”, by James D. Whiteside, II PE

  • June: "Downstream Schedule Analysis for Non-Schedulers”, by Amanda M. Madl

  • July: "Front-End Engineering and Design: Influence over a Project’s Outcome”, by James D. Whiteside, II PE, and Tyler Humes
