The Board of Directors is pleased to announce Julie Owen CCC PSP as the new Vice President- Regions. Julie will fill the term vacated by Andy Padilla ECCC. The term will expire at the 2012 Annual Meeting.
With this appointment, Owen will be vacating her current position on the Board as Director-Region 6. The Board of Directors is currently in the process of finding a replacement for the Director-Region 6 position -- the term expires at the 2011 Annual Meeting.
Julie Owen has over twenty years of experience in project management, project control, cost engineering, scheduling, contract administration, and schedule delay claim analysis. She works as Project Controls Supervisor for Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority managing the $40 billion over 30-year initiative to improve Los Angeles County transportation infrastructure.
A member of AACE since 1994, Julie holds both the Certified Cost Consultant (CCC) and Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certifications. She is currently the lead instructor for the PSP certification continuing education course offered for the past three years at the Annual Meeting. Julie is an officer in the Women in Project Controls Committee, is active with the Diversity Task Force, and
Young Professionals Committee, and has been an active member of the CyberSection -- all groups that will now directly report to her as VP-Regions.
She remains active in the Southern California Section and held multiple board positions such as past president, president, vice president, events director, director at large, scholarship chair, and newsletter editor. In 2008, Julie was instrumental in transforming the Southern California Spring Symposium regional one-day/one-track event into a 3-day/multi-track event and money maker for the section.
Julie holds a master's degrees in business administration from University of Redlands and a bachelor's degree in construction science from Texas A&M University.
