In January 2011, the Board of Directors convened a Strategic Planning meeting in Houston, TX to develop a new strategic plan for the association.

As part of those discussion, there was a consensus that the current association governance structure should be reviewed.

The purpose of the review was to improve the Association’s effectiveness, efficiency and to respond to our more global presence.

A special Governance Task Force was appointed to address those issues.
