| 1. In order to possibly promote increased attendance, would you be supportive of a more affordable Annual Meeting registration fee scheme for the members? |
| Yes, it is important to promote and encourage members to attend the Annual Meeting. The opportunity for networking and professional development is tremendous. Offering flexible fee schemes allow individual members to select their preferred areas of interest. In my opinion, increasing the number of member attendees is more important than revenues generated from the registration fees. |
| 2. How would you propose membership be increased in North America and internationally? |
| Suggestions include incentives and encouragement of current members to recommend membership to colleagues and offer a rebate for each new member that joins. Another suggestion would be inviting high profile speakers to meetings which would be a good step forward in this regard. Finally, I would suggest that the association offer potential members a free or trial period. During that timeframe, the association should provide increased evidence of the benefits of memberships. One of the main advantages of such benefits is the networking opportunities. |
| 3. What do you see as the two most significant challenges facing your position and how would you address these two challenges |
| Two challenges facing this position would be the increase of activities at the local section level and increase in memberships. Stronger support and encouragement of volunteers at the local section local would provide additional synergy for activities. Partnerships and promotional presentations at trade show, educational institutes and other industry associations would generate more membership. |
| 4. What are your thoughts on the AACE International membership category of “Emeritus”? |
| The membership category of “Emeritus” would be excellent. This category would recognize the commitment and contributions the member has made to the association. It also foster continued relationship with the distinguish member which may otherwise be lost. |
| 5. What do you see is working right with the association today; in general or specifically? |
| At the local section level specifically, both our Scholarship program and Certification Examination program are well received. In general, the Professional Resources and Career/Mentoring Center services that are available to the membership is great. Resources such as the Job Seeker, Virtual Library, TCM Framework, Recommended Practices, etc. shows the associations support of its membership. |
| 6. What do you see as needing improvement with the association today; in general or specifically? |
| In general, the association needs to grow its public image. A better brand recognition of the certification credentials (CCC, CCE, CEP, CFCC, EVP, PSP and CCT) with industry and other agencies is important to grow. |
| 7. For the areas where you see the association needs improvement, how should they be addressed? |
| A stronger marketing program would enhance the brand identity of AACE. Increased awareness of AACE at universities and colleges specifically with faculty would help. Improved dialog with employers for using the certification credentials as a screening tool for selecting staff would grow the certification program. |
| 8. What value to the association does the Approved Education Provider (AEP) program provide? |
| The Approved Education Provider (AEP) program provides tremendous value to the association. The AACE AEP program provides members and their companies the source for highly qualified and vetted professional development courses. The AEP would also be a great source for employees seeking professional development credit. |
| 9. How would you propose the value of the AEP program to AACE members be increased? |
| Provide additional professional development courses in other areas. An increase in the selection of online course offerings would be good. |
| 10. What are your thoughts relative to the association expanding internationally, including into China? |
| I support initiatives for expanding the association into other countries that we are currently not located, especially in developing countries. |
