Working as Senior Manager Project Management in Invensys India Private Limited handling Foxboro IA and Triconex PLC Systems projects essentially for Oil and Gas industries. Was responsible for total execution of the following projects:

-Terminal Automation System Project for Essar Refineries Limited of value of 4.8 Mn USD.
-Pipe Line SCADA System for Gujarat State Petronet Limited of 3.5 Mn USD value.
-Pipe Line SCADA Systems for Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) of value 0.8 Mn USD.
-ESD System with Triconex PLC for South Asia LPG Private Limited of value 0.4 Mn USD.
-Multipurpose Chemical Terminal Facility for Reliance Petroleum of value 1.2 Mn USD.
-ESD System for IPCL of value 0.5 Mn USD.
-PCS for Nirma Ltd of value 1.5 Mn USD.
-Involved in RIL New Refinery Project of 32 Mn USD

The job profile at Invensys included

Leading the Project team to achieve the set targets of customer satisfaction index, GP improvement and AR targets.
Effective Contract and Customer management to achieve desired technical outputs and to optimize the project costs thus enhancing profitability of the project and achieving project implementation to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
Project planning and scheduling, Project coordination, Project cost monitoring and Cost control.
Vendor coordination and management.
Coordination between various departments of the organization to achieve the project schedule.
Responsible for reporting to corporate on Project performance analysis both technical and commercial, Manpower utilization, monitoring project cash flow including receivables collection.
Management and monitoring of multiple sites and commissioning schedules.
Ensuring adherence to the Global Engineering and Project Management Systems and Procedures of Invensys.
Extensive use of Microsoft Projects package.








MY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE


1.Started my career in Taylor Instrument Company (India) Ltd in April 1983 and worked till September 1986 in engineering and commissioning.
2.Worked in Keltron Controls in engineering and project management of DCS Systems which were being manufactured in collaboration with Hitachi Ltd, Japan for Thermal Power Plants. Executed orders from Oil & Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) for Western region DCS (3 million USD). Was responsible for project management, engineering and execution of DCS Systems for DVC Mejia TPS (5 million USD). Was responsible for sales of DCS to Process Plants for a part of the tenure.
3.Employed in Tata Honeywell Ltd at Pune from March 1994 to July 1995 in Power Plant division.
4.Worked as Business Manager Process Automation Division with Eurotherm India Limited (an Invensys company) at Chennai, a leading Process automation solution and DCS provider. Good exposure to the key markets of Power, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear Power and Chemical industries.

Was responsible for the initial setting up of the Projects Execution and Engineering department in the organization. Handled complete Project scheduling, project management including all internal coordination, customer interface, Project cost control (both in terms of material and manpower), have used project planning and costing tools. Used the project module of ERP system (Microsoft Great Plains) for tracking BOM, material issued/pending, material cost, delivery schedules and other commercial matters. The commercial knowledge coupled with engineering, commissioning and project management experience and knowledge of the Automation market has helped in ensuring profitability at above industry standard levels with the various other financial parameters like Accounts Receivables and Inventory turns within the specified levels of the organization.

The major projects completed successfully during my tenure was

Control System for 2 x 500 MW for Nuclear Power Corporation (Tarapore Units 3&4) at a value of 2 million USD and Power plant control room simulation system for the same customer.
Automation of Sudanese Petroleum Automation
Automation & Electrics from Saint Gobain Float Glass in Chennai at a value 2 million USD.
Float Glass plant automation for Asahi Glass India at a value of approx 1 million USD.
Turnkey automation package for Glass Fiber plant of Saint Gobain Vetrotex Industries.
