Call for Seminar Proposals
AACE International's 53rd Annual Meeting

Seattle, Washington
June 28 -July 1, 2009

The 2009 AACE Annual Meeting will be held at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. This package contains information on how you can be considered for AACE’s seminar program that will be offered on the two days immediately before and after the Annual Meeting technical program. The program will be finalized in September 2008, based on the written proposals received.

If you would like to be considered for the program, please submit a proposal as outlined below:

Timeline
  • July 2008: Reminder for Call for Proposals
  • Sept. 15, 2008: Deadline for seminar proposals to be received at AACE Headquarters
  • Fall 2008: AACE International Education Board in conjunction with Headquarters staff reviews proposals and makes final selections.
  • November 1, 2008: Applicants notified by mail or e-mail of status of their proposal.
Seminars are reviewed on the following individual course selection criteria:
Content
  • Benefits professional needs of participants
  • Useful and easily applicable to work place
  • Leading-edge in cost engineering/cost management profession
  • Represents a sound and credible curriculum
Course Design
  • Based on clearly written learning objectives
  • Clearly written lesson plan
  • Incorporates good practices for adult education
Instructor
  • Has successfully presented to audiences of cost professionals
  • Can assess and adapt to various knowledge levels and needs of participants
  • Possesses interpersonal and interactive instructional skills
  • Has ability to build rapport with participants
Proposal
  • Provides the information requested for evaluation
  • Relevant supporting forms are completed and submitted
