An experiential learning course designed specifically for
English as Second Language professional practitioners of Project Management and/or Cost
Engineering, enabling participants to hone their Project Management Competencies to pass
the Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) Examination
Course Outline
This is a fully integrated course designed specifically
for early to mid career professional practitioners to ensure their knowledge, skills and
competencies are current with internationally recognized and accepted "Best Practices
of the Profession" of Project Management/Cost Engineering. This course has been
designed specifically for English as Second Language (ESL) practitioners and has been
created to take full advantage of the customs, values, learning styles, and culture common
throughout Southeast and Eastern Asia. The course is based on the philosophy of
experiential learning, where the participants are given "Projects" which have
been crafted in such a manner as to require demonstrated ability to use the tools and
techniques normally and customarily associated with Project Management and/or Cost
Engineering.
The format will follow very much along the lines of
Donald Trump's "The Apprentice," as the teams will be assigned a project and
will have to demonstrate their competency in mastering the methods, tools, and techniques
associated with Project Management/Cost Engineering, and do so while constrained by Time,
Cost, Quality and Ethical considerations.

This will be conducted in the context of a
"Project" assigned to the participants: - Managing Change Orders
- Revised Risk Assessment
- Creating a Project Recovery Plan
The project will include or incorporate the use of
various Project Management Software tools, including CPM Scheduling Software, Flow Chart
and WBS Software, Estimating Software, and Risk Analysis Software.
