The Certification (Cert) Board was formed in 1975, under the leadership of the first
Cert Board Chair, Robert E. Templeton.
The Cert Board is one of three associate boards reporting to the AACE
Board of Directors through the Vice President - T/E/C (Technical/
Education/Certification). Members of the Cert Board come from a
diverse background including past AACE Presidents/directors,
university faculty, and professionals from owner, engineering,
construction and consulting firms. The charter of the Cert board is to:
Plan, direct and administer the AACE Certification Program.
Prepare certification examinations or cause them to be prepared.
Evaluate the performance of individuals who take the examinations.
Globalize selective AACE publications into other languages to meet their needs of our diverse, international membership
Proactively work with AACE Technical and Education boards to enhance AACE value
