Project Controls may not be a term you have heard before, but careers in this field can be fast-paced, financially rewarding, and can put you on a career path that leads to an executive management position. Start with a college degree in engineering, construction, business or some related technical or managerial discipline. Get a year or two of field experience and then move into the project controls office as a cost engineer, cost controls specialist, estimator, or project manager.
