Brian D. Dunfield Educational Service Award

The Brian D. Dunfield Educational Service Award is the highest award in recognition of excellence in the field of cost engineering education presented by AACE International [AACE]. It is not limited to AACE members.

The Brian D. Dunfield Educational Service Award publicly recognizes and honors the educational teaching achievements, over an extended period of time, by an individual who is a member of the cost engineering professional community. The recipient must have advanced the skills and knowledge of cost engineering through teaching, writing, editing, and/or publishing educational materials used to train and educate present and future cost professionals.

The award was established and endowed in 1998 by Mr. Dunfield (1928 - 2008), a past AACE President and first chair of the AACE Education Board. Mr. Dunfield believed in the value of education to enrich cost engineering knowledge through both university programs and continuing education.

Memorials received by the Association at the time of Brian’s death, June 8, 2008, were added to the endowment. The fund will continue to accept future contributions to enhance the endowment.

The award consists of an honorarium and plaque. The Brian D. Dunfield Educational Service Award is presented at the AACE Annual meeting.
