A combination of material presentation in lecture format, examples and interactive sessions will be utilized by the instructor to provide attendees with an opportunity to engage in discussions and participate in an effective learning experience.

About the Instructors:
Christopher F. Michalak is Senior Vice President with Pathfinder, LLC and Pathfinder’s lead professional in project controls and planning and scheduling. He has 25 years experience in project planning/scheduling, project management and project/material control in the oil & gas, chemical, power/energy bio-tech, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. He has expert level experience in the application of risk analysis tools and demonstrated expertise with numerous commercially available and proprietary Pathfinder-developed project planning/scheduling and project management software.

Mr. Michalak provides onging project controls, cost engineering and planning and scheduling services to several major CPI, biotech/pharmaceutical, food and beverage and clients for capital projects, including major process equipment retrofit, unit expansions and revamp/maintenance projects.

Mr. Michalak is an experienced practitioner and has developed and conducted numerous courses on project controls, project execution planning, and planning and scheduling for international and domestic clients since joining Pathfinder. He holds a B.S. in Business Management from Rutgers College of Engineering.

Stephen L Cabano is President/Chief Operating Officer of Pathfinder, LLC with over 20 years project engineering and project management experience in the industrial and commercial facilities industry. He has had overall responsibility for costs, planning, scheduling, procurement, and other project-related services. He has designed, developed and presented numerous project related training sessions domestically and internationally, and is a recognized training instructor.

Earlier, as a Project Manager with Naval Facilities Engineering Command, he was responsible for the timely execution of new construction and major maintenance projects from conception to completion. His responsibilities included conceptual planning, estimating, project execution planning, cost engineering and construction management.

He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and has professional affiliation memberships including AACE International, the Project Management Institute, American Institute of Chemical Engineering, American Society of Training and Development, SAVE International, Construction Industry Institute, 2005-2006 Engineering and Construction Contracting Association Board Member, and currently Chairman for the ECC Board.
