AACE's North American Marketing Committee has been searching for a way to thank the members of the military for their service to the U.S. In this light, AACE may be able to assist non-commissioned officers (NCO's) and officers coming up for discharge in finding a career path in the capital projects industry - project controls.
To this end, AACE has offered to host up to 50 NCO's or officers that are soon to be discharged and are looking for a professional career in construction on Monday, June 29, 2009, at the Annual Meeting. AACE believes that soldiers coming out of the Engineer Battalion from Fort Lewis (WA) have a certain level of education and skills that are transferable to the construction industry at large. Thus, we are taking this opportunity show them one career path in this industry that they may not have thought of previously.
Those soldiers who attend are invited to join us for breakfast and lunch, attend the Keynote session and all technical sessions on this day at the expense of AACE. They will also be provided with a copy of the program as well as the Transactions of the Annual Meeting on CD. Those who have been working with the outplacement center already have been encouraged to bring a resume along will enhance their opportunity to pursue job leads.
