2007 Annual Meeting Survey Summary
Dear 51st Annual Meeting Attendees:

Thank you for attending the 51st Annual Meeting of AACE International in Nashville, TN and special thanks to those of you who submitted your post-conference evaluations. This year, 26% of those who received an evaluation replied with responses to the questions. We look closely at your ratings and read every comment. Your evaluations from each and every Annual Meeting guide what we do at future meetings.

Overall Rating and Comments
Overall, it was a very good conference! Over 90% of you rated the information presented & the event itself as good or excellent. In relation to your business needs, 90% of you felt the information presented was very pertinent or extremely pertinent. Of those delegates who attended the Annual Meeting for the first time, 73% said you would attend again. Attending the technical presentations is what brings most of you to the meeting. Networking & employer encouragement are the second and third biggest drivers of attendance.

AACE’s website edged out the CE Journal for the second year as the leading media source that made you aware of AACE’s 51st Annual Meeting.

We receive valuable feedback regarding the topics you would like to see covered at future Annual Meetings and we consider every suggestion. Current hot topics include Building Information Modeling; recruiting challenges; international challenges; ethics; sustainable building; more varied industry-specific presentations; software demos and Q&A sessions. There are contrasting opinions about the technical content of some tracks - an equal number of you feel the content is too technical as feel that it is too basic.

There are many noteworthy ideas conveyed in your responses to the request for comments. Most of the comments are very positive in nature, favoring the technical content of this year’s meeting as well as the venue. The negative comments pertain to the advertising & planning of specific events.

Conclusions
As we look ahead to Toronto, we will consider all of your comments and suggestions.

We are committed to improving next year’s meeting with the following enhancements:
  • Larger & more comfortable rooms for technical sessions
  • Continued high quality venue
  • Earlier and more frequent notifications of specific events
  • Better lunch menus
  • BIM track
  • Sustainable Building track
If you would like to view the complete results of the survey, please send a request to meetings@aacei.org and the detailed summary will be emailed to you.
