Don’t miss out; you can now view the August issue of the Source magazine online here.
In this issue of Source, new AACE President Martin Darley, CCP, discusses, “Enabling Change.” Martin writes, “Change occurs in our workplaces, in our lives, in our communities. We are repeatedly advised that without adapting to, and adopting change, we stand still, or worse, lose ground and eventually our relevance.” In his August message, Martin reflects on some of the changes AACE International has made and how these changes will improve the value of AACE to you. It’s a must read.

Support Your Peers
Read about the career successes of Elena Rybina of Moscow who is the August Women in Project Controls Spotlight profile, as well as Sam Elachkar of Los Angeles who is the August Young Professional in Cost Engineering Spotlight profile. Read how these two were drawn to project controls and cost engineering and the career successes they have had and how AACE membership has benefited them. See pages 11 and 15 of the August Source. 2013 AACE Endowment/Scholarship Contributors Listed
In the August Source, we are publishing a list of those individuals, AACE Sections and others who contributed at least $100 to the AACE Endowment Fund and/or one of our Scholarships funds in 2013. In February 2015, we plan to publish the list of 2014 contributors, as well as highlight those students who were awarded AACE scholarships in 2014. If you haven’t contributed to these funds yet, get your contribution of $100 or more in prior to the end of the year and your name will be published in February 2015. Contributions of less than $100 are welcomed; we just do not publish the names of these contributors.
Section Officers Listen Up
If you have been elected to the board of directors of your local AACE Section, you will want to read page 19 of the August Source as it explains a change coming at the start of 2015 in which section dues allocations from headquarters to your section will be paid once a year instead of quarterly. This change is designed to help sections easier budget for the year, but you need to be prepared for the change.

In each Source magazine, we have been bringing you a “Bonus Technical Paper.” In the August Source, see page 20, and you can read: “Misusing the Measured Mile Concept to Make a Claim.” This bonus technical article is authored by Robert D. Kelly Jr., CFCC PSP. Check out the back cover of the August Source for a listing of technical papers that will be published in the September/October Cost Engineering journal. The articles will cover a variety of technical subject areas.
We are sad to report of the April 29 death of longtime AACE member Dr. Richard E. Larew of Iowa City. See page 45 for the obituary that has been supplemented with additional details of his AACE service since 1975.
