For the 2013-2014 academic year, AACE International is awarding $91,750 in scholarships, to students enrolled in university programs related to the cost and schedule management field. Two programs, a scholarship competition and a matching funds program, are open each year to students enrolled in colleges and universities in the US and Canada. Nationality is not limited to US and Canadian citizens, however.
Top awards of $8000 each were awarded to Mr. Andres Boral, a graduate student at Florida Gulf Coast University. Andres holds a bachelorís degree in Civil Engineering. He is now continuing his education to obtain his MBA.
Mr. Ali Montaser, a graduate student in the School of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering, Condordia University in Montreal was the top Canadian winner. He is planning to become a registered Professional Engineer in the US and teach construction management. He also plans to pursue AACE certification.
In addition, awards ranging from $6000 to $2000 were awarded to students from fifteen other institutions who were successful in the annual scholarship competition. Other awards in varying amounts were made through the matching funds program.
Matching funds awards are given to students by local AACE sections by combining their donations with funds provided for that purpose by AACE International members and sponsoring corporations.
All of the funding for these scholarship programs comes from donations from AACE members, corporate sponsors, and local sections.
