What is a Certified Scheduling Technician (CST)?
The Certified Scheduling Technician certification program has been established to give less experienced professionals the opportunity to advance their scheduling skills, knowledge, and professional development; and be distinguished as a Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) prior to obtaining the prerequisite 8 years of relevant experience necessary to become certified as a PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional). The PSP is also offered by AACE International.
The target audience for this new certification is the young professional with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience (or a 4-year degree). The benefits of becoming a CST are:

The CST exam is comprised of multiple choice questions and covers basic supporting skills and knowledge of scheduling. The computer-based testing exam is “open book” and allows the use of the recently completed AACE International “Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) Certification Primer”.
AACE International will open registration online for the CST on July 1, 2013. After registration is approved by AACE International headquarters, the candidates may challenge the examination by scheduling the exam at more than 500 testing centers worldwide at the date and location of their choice.
A Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) Certification Primer is now available from AACE International to the total cost management community. A publication of the AACE International Education Board, this primer was authored by Dr. John O. Evans III, PSP; Peter W. Griesmyer, and Valerie G. Venters, CCC.
The primer has been prepared to support personal study by individuals seeking apprentice level certification in scheduling. The primer is a support tool for preparing to take the certification examination for a Certified Scheduling Technician (CST) designation.
