This award has been established through the
Women in Project Controls Committee, via a donation by 2006-2008 AACE®
Vice President-Finance Marlene M. Hyde CCC, to honor women who have
overcome obstacles pursuing the career of project controls and who
have made a significant contribution to the profession.
Any AACE member may nominate a woman for this award. Nominations
should be sent to AACE® Headquarters at info@aacei.org. Members of the
Women in Project Controls Committee will evaluate, score the
candidates, and select the winner. A member of the Women in Project
Controls Committee will present the check and a plaque to the winner
at the Annual Meeting each year.
 Susan B. Zimmerman CCE
Susan has been a member since 2002 and became a Certified Cost Engineer
(CCE) in 2003. She has been active with the North Florida Section serving in
a variety of leadership roles: Vice President-Administrative, Co-Chair
Section Scholarship Committee (2 years), and on the Section Board (2 years).
Susan has worked for 28 years in the Construction Department at the Kennedy
Space Center. She has helped plan, attend, and volunteered at the Space
Congress/Space Vision Congress. She has been recognized for her work with a
Group Achievement Award for Exception Teamwork and Dedicated Effort in
Design, Construction and Activation of Shuttle Landing Field Air Traffic
Control Tower and Media Operations Facility (2005), Certification of
Appreciation for Headquarters Building Air Handler Replacement, Phase II
Design Construction and Activation (2006), Group Achievement Award for Life
Support Facility (2008). Susan has been a member of the Golden Key
International Honor Society since 2001. In nominating Susan for this award,
the North Florida Section said, “Susan is a talented, conscientious, and
very effective member of our board. Her contributions are thoughtful and
worthwhile, and the Section is fortunate that she’s a member and one of its
leaders. She has been one of AACE’s most loyal supports, and excels both in
helping to lead the Section and in mentoring younger members.” |
